On the morning of April 23, the Hubei Jingzhou Public Health Center and Disease Prevention and Control Inspection Center started construction. This is the domestic ’s first general-purpose epidemiological dual-use hospital, that is, it usually meets the needs of the surrounding people for medical treatment, which integrates outpatient, hospitalization, medical technology, and scientific research; it transforms into an emergency hospital during epidemic times to meet the needs of infectious diseases and other emergencies. It marks China ’s breakthrough in prevention and control of infectious disease prevention and major public health incidents.
The Jingzhou Public Health Center and Disease Prevention and Control Inspection Center is the first project to be started in the first batch of emergency projects for the prevention and control of COVID-19 assisted by the New Development Bank in China. The New Development Bank is an international financial institution co-sponsored by BRICS countries( China, Brazil, Russia, India and South Africa). During the epidemic, an emergency loan of RMB 7 billion was granted to China through a fast-track approach to support public health emergency expenditures of Hubei, Guangdong, and Henan provinces.
The total construction area of the Jingzhou Public Health Center project is 180,000 square meters, the total investment of the project is 1.25 billion yuan, and the number of beds reaches 1,000 beds.
At present, the project has been started, and the site is being leveled and earthwork is being backfilled. The next part is mainly the construction of pile machines.
